Before you get started
A few things you might be wondering.
Have a more specific question? Add it to your enquiry.
What information helps with a garage-floor quote?
Include the suburb, approximate area, whether the slab is bare or coated and any staining, peeling or visible damage. Mention steps, fixed cupboards and the week you hope to use the garage again.
How do I choose between flake and a plain finish?
Start with the appearance you prefer, then discuss the room's use, lighting, texture and cleaning. Ask to see actual samples of the available complete systems before selecting a colour or flake blend.
Will the existing concrete need grinding?
A contractor needs to inspect the surface and specify an appropriate preparation method. Old coatings, surface condition and the proposed system affect what is needed. Ask the quote to describe the preparation rather than leaving it as a vague allowance.
Can epoxy go in a sunny or exposed area?
Exposure matters. Explain direct sun, rain and open sides so a contractor can assess a suitable system, including any appropriate topcoat. Do not assume an interior garage specification is suitable outside.
How long will the room be unavailable?
Preparation, application and curing are separate stages. The contractor should specify when walking, furniture and vehicle traffic can resume for the chosen system and actual conditions. Share any access or reopening deadline early.
Who carries out the flooring work?
This is an independent project enquiry service. Your brief is reviewed before any suitable contractor introduction. Coverage, capability and availability must be confirmed; you agree the work and its terms directly with the contractor.
Tell us about your project.
A few details make a useful start: your suburb, approximate floor area, the current surface and what you would like to change. Leave your phone number for the project follow-up.
