Describe the tools and traffic
Include bench equipment, moving trolleys, jacks, dropped materials, liquids and any hot work. The contractor should explain the system's suitability and limits for those uses. A photograph of an attractive garage is not enough to choose a working-floor specification.
Plan around equipment that stays
List fixed benches and machines, along with anything that can be moved for preparation. Ask how the edges around them will be finished and whether untreated footprints will remain. Anchors, floor joints and changes to adjacent surfaces need to be considered before coating starts.
Keep downtime in the same brief
Share the period during which the room can remain empty and when the heaviest equipment needs to return. Ask for instructions specific to those loads. If staged work is proposed, agree the physical separation, joins and access route for each phase.
